Ms. Mariah (Gillespie), founder of Ms. Mariah’s Music, is a certified Kindermusik Music International Instructor as well as a Yamaha Music Education teacher, with 20 years of teaching experience in both the United States and Australia. Mariah teaches private piano lessons and group music lessons to children and adults of all ages. Mariah was born and raised in Trenton, Michigan, and studied piano with Grosse Ile’s Doris Richards, B.M., M.M. and harp with Ruth Myers-Brown, M.M. in Dearborn. She graduated from Trenton High School in 2005, having spent her junior year attending the Baltimore School for the Arts. She has a BA in Music from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a MA in Journalism & Communication from UNSW (Sydney). She has performed numerous solo recitals and has extensive an extensive performance portfolio in both the piano and the harp. In 2015, Mariah founded Ms. Mariah’s Music in Coronado, California. Her west coast studio had 120+ students and 8 teachers specializing in 5 different musical instruments. In addition to serving as the City of Coronado’s Arts Education and Musical Arts Commissioner, Mariah acted as Music Chair for the Coronado Rotary Club and volunteered with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra. In 2022, Mariah sold the San Diego branch of her business and moved back to Michigan. She lives on Riverside Drive with her husband and toddler, and teaches private lessons out of her home. She's excited to start her Kindermusik journey with YOU!

Studio Policy

Welcome to Ms. Mariah’s Music! We are passionate in our commitment to bring music into the lives of every child. Our mission is to instill a love and appreciation of music in every student through comprehensive music education.

- Regular attendance is important to a child’s sense of security. It is important that you make every effort to attend each class on a regular basis. Tuition reserves your spot in class each week. Your place in the class is reserved exclusively for you; therefore, there are no refunds or credits for classes missed due to student absence (including student illness or personal obligations).

- If for any reason your instructor must cancel a class session, a new class day and time will be scheduled.

- Tuition is due on the 1st of the month for the upcoming month. Fees for online registrations will be posted automatically and charged to the credit card provided on the registration form.

- Missed classes are neither prorated nor refundable. If, after the first four weeks, you find that your child isn't making the progress you'd hoped for, we will unenroll you and cancel any further payments. Notice must be given BEFORE the 1st of the month.

- If Trenton Public Schools are closed due to weather, we will cancel classes for the same part of the day. An online class will be made available via zoom, and you will be notified by email.

- We strive to maintain a healthy and safe environment. Please ensure that your child's behavior is always safe and appropriate.

- Any person (child OR adult) who displays any symptoms of illness, please stay home.

- For the comfort of others, please refrain from using perfumes/colognes in the studio.

- For your child’s safety, we ask that parents remain in the classroom and/or building.

- Ms. Mariah’s Music is not responsible for the care or supervision of students, their friends, or siblings.

- Ms. Mariah’s Music is not liable for any injury or damages resulting from any behavior which violates these policies.

- Unenroll by emailing mariah@msmariahsmusic.com at least five business days before your next payment is due.
