Kindermusik Level 2

Have a very independent toddler? Want them to be more independent? Level 2 classes give toddlers the opportunity to express their own ideas and creativity. They’ll learn new vocabulary, play instruments, and do things “their own way,” while making cognitive strides.

  • Whole Body
Muscles used for posture and balance strengthen and toddlers gain alertness, self-control, and the ability to regulate movement.
  • Fine-Motor Skills
Toddlers strengthen their finger and hand muscles, which increases fine motor skills needed to write.
  • Cognitive Development
With repetitive songs and rhymes, toddlers strengthen their ability to memorize, sequence, and predict patterns.

Cathy has been interested in music and dance for as long as she can remember. She was always encouraged to sing, dance, play instruments and perform from the very beginning. She started calisthenics at the age of 4 when her older sister went to classes and mush to her parents delight she absolutely shone as soon as she stepped onto the stage. Her love of dance continued. She started classical ballet training at the age of 8 and studied Ceccetti method completing all exams to Advanced level. Throughout these years she learnt tap dancing and contemporary dance also. In her early 20’s Cathy was asked by her dance school to teach young children tap dancing. She loved planning classes and doing the choreography for concerts. She was also approached privately to teach music, rhythm and dance to several families of children under the age of 5 and set up weekly classes in one of their homes. Cathy studied Viola and singing throughout Primary and High School. She was involved in several choirs and orchestras and the school musical. When she left school she joined a String Quartet - Silk n Strings and later Handle With Care and now Strung out Mama's which play at weddings and functions in Adelaide and an Eagles cover band. She has also played in the Holdfast Bay and Fusion Pops Orchestras. Cathy discovered the wonderful Kindermusik program when she took her son Matthew along. She loved the philosophy and method so much she trained and became a teacher. She has been teaching Kindermusik now for 16 years and teaches at The Clarence Park Community Centre. Cathy is thrilled that she can combine her passion and love of music, movement and dance and share this love with young babies and children. She believes every child and adult are musical and loves tapping into this in a such a friendly, happy, fun and nurturing environment.
