Sometimes, the best learning happens when we’re all together. Mixed age classes allow families with siblings, neighbor groups of varying age levels, and anyone who’s drawn to the time slot to attend. Educators accommodate powerful and enjoyable music and movement activities for all stages of development, so that everyone is comfortable, engaged, and learning!
Margaret's Music Studio, established in 1993, has been awarded the prestigious Kindermusik "Maestro" designation every year since 2004. Margaret's Music Studio believes that music nurtures the soul, enhances development, and that everyone is musical; therefore, it’s never too early to start a musical education. Owner/Director Margaret Matthes is a classical choral singer who has sung under renowned conductors, including Ricardo Muti, Zubin Mehta and Leonard Bernstein. In New York she sang with Gregg Smith Singers, a Grammy-nominated a cappella chamber choir. Locally she has performed with the Birmingham Musicale, DeHaven Chorale, Oakland Choral Society and the vocal chamber choir "Sounding Light." Margaret holds a B.S. in Music Education from UT Knoxville and an Master''s degree in Music Education from Westminster Choir College.
